Shininger Great Danes
We are located in rural Defiance, Ohio on a 10 acre homestead. My husband had wanted a Great Dane for many years, and I finally agreed in exchange for some things getting done on my honey-do list. So now we have Vena. Our whole family, including our four boys (ages 6, 5, 4, 3), absolutely loves her. She is the sweetest most loveable dog I've ever had.
In mid October we got our second Great Dane. She is a fawn that came from southern Illinois. We think her name is going to be Ivy. Photos coming soon!
Vena
Vena was born on July 4, 2009 and is AKC registered. She is a 33 inch harlequin with a champion pedigree. She had her first litter of puppies on July 9, 2011.
Weston
Weston, who is owned by Wierwille Danes, is a beautiful, pure blue as are both of his parents and is AKC registered. He stands just under 40 inches and weighs 165. He is a very big boy. He is very friendly and easy going.
Puppies
On July 9, 2011 Vena had 11 puppies, 6 boys and 5 girls. This includes 4 black males, 3 black females, 2 merle males,
1 merle female, and 1 harlequin female. The puppies have already had their first vet-check, dew claws removed, and 4, 6, 8, and 10 week wormers. They have had their 1st and 2nd vaccinations. The puppies will be raised in our home with our children with much love and attention. A Great Dane is a serious commitment. They are the kindest, most loveable dogs and will melt your heart, but please consider whether such a large animal can fit into your home and your lifestyle.
Puppies are now 14 weeks old and are ready for their new homes. We have 1 puppy available: Bay. Bay is great with kids! Our boys play with her all the time, especially our 3 and 4 year-old. Bay is energetic, outgoing but also likes to lay around and nap. Bay is currently about 40 pounds. She is the largest female of the litter. She is ready for her new home!
